Abstract

This project presents the development of a Local Salon Booking Application designed to digitize the scheduling and service selection process for small and independent salons that traditionally rely on walk-in customers and offline appointments. A structured and iterative development methodology was followed, consisting of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Each stage ensured the application’s usability, reliability, and scalability. The resulting solution replaces manual booking practices with an automated digital platform, enabling improved customer convenience, reduced administrative effort, and enhanced service accessibility for local salon businesses.

Conclusion

The Local Salon Booking Application successfully demonstrates that digital appointment management can significantly improve the operational efficiency of small and independent salons that traditionally rely on offline walk-ins. By replacing manual scheduling with an automated booking and slot-validation system, the platform minimizes appointment conflicts, reduces customer waiting time, and provides greater transparency in service availability. The three-tier architecture incorporating a ReactJS web interface, a React Native Android application, Django- based backend services, and a SQL database ensures a scalable and secure environment for both salon owners and customers. Core functionalities such as service browsing, digital receipts, booking history, rescheduling, notifications, and review handling create a unified user experience that supports repeat usage and business growth. Overall, the application bridges a notable technological gap in the local salon sector by offering a user-friendly, accessible, and reliable platform without requiring technical expertise from salon owners. The system validates the feasibility and utility of digitizing small-scale salon operations and establishes a foundation for future improvements such as online payments, loyalty programs, multi-branch support, and advanced analytics.
