Abstract

LinkedIn has emerged as a leading professional networking platform, but its openness has made it a target for abuse. This case study investigates LinkedIn’s security vulnerabilities, including fake profiles, phishing schemes, and recruitment fraud. It critiques current security frameworks and proposes a scalable, AI-enhanced model for identity validation, behavioral intelligence, and user-centric trust restoration tools. The study emphasizes the need for proactive security to preserve the platform’s integrity.

Conclusion

LinkedIn’s global reach has created a fertile ground for both opportunity and exploitation. This study concludes that reactive moderation is insufficient. A shift toward proactive, AI-driven protection is essential. The proposed framework includes verified identities, behavioral intelligence (Behavior-KI), and structured recovery paths to rebuild trust. As digital identities increasingly shape real-world careers, safeguarding platforms like LinkedIn becomes a societal imperative.
