Classification and Detection of Highway Crack Using SBIR
- Minu Inba Shanthini W.B , Vignesh. R , John Shajio.T , Vijay Raj.D
Abstract
Crack detection in road pavements and objects has been a constant field of research in pavement management. Conventionally, humans were engaged to detect cracks in the pavements and they used to present report sheets based on their assessment. But, this process was a time consuming one and was costlier too. So, researchers were trying for minimizing the human involvement and at the same time detecting the cracks precisely. This gave way to numerous automated techniques for the detection of cracks. In the below paper, an automated technique to detect cracks in road pavements by means of digital image processing is proposed . In Some conditions such as complex texture, bad illumination, and non-uniform background in images may influence the accuracy of the automatic system. In this technique we propose a automated detection of crack area in the road pavement from the road surface video footage. First, the images required are processed by gray scale morphological processing. The result is received by filtering the images and then applying the edge detection operators. Based on applying shape based image retrieval algorithm, the particular defective area can be retrieved. These results are simulated through computer software tool using MATLAB VERSION 7.9. Latency Aware IPv6 Packet Delivery Scheme over IEEE 802.15.4
- V. Kandasamy , K . Laxmi Narayanan , S. Infant Jayaseelan
Abstract
IEEE 802.15.4 is a technical standard which defines the operation of low-rate wireless personal area networks (LR-WPANs). It specifies the physical layer and media access control for LR-WPANs, and is maintained by the IEEE 802.15 working group, which defined the standard in 2003. We consider a complex (i.e., nonlinear) road scenario where users aboard vehicles equipped with communication interfaces are interested in downloading large files from road-side Access Points (APs). We investigate the possibility of exploiting opportunistic encounters among mobile nodes so to augment the transfer rate experienced by vehicular downloader’s. To that end, we devise solutions for the selection of carriers and data chunks at the APs, and evaluate them in real-world road topologies, under different AP deployment strategies. Through extensive simulations, we show that carry & forward transfers can significantly increase the download rate of vehicular users in urban/suburban environments, and that such a result holds throughout diverse mobility scenarios, AP placements and network loads. Automation System for Agricultural Management
- M. Vinoth Kumar , S. Jabez Samson, R. Santhana Krishnan , S. Saravana Kumar
Abstract
It is an automation system for checking the moisture content in the agricultural fields and watering them accordingly eliminating the manual effort. A soil moisture sensor is used to analyze the moisture content in the soil and it will update the information to the smart phone integrated with the sensor. The motor or sprinkler involved in watering the fields are turned on and off automatically through relays. The moisture content is monitored throughout the watering with the help of flow sensor and the humidity sensor is also used to monitor the humidity in the atmosphere of the fields. The watering is stopped when the crops reach an optimum level. This leads to conservation of water and ensures healthy crops. Nowadays, the farmers are suffering from lacking rain and water scarcity. The traditional farm land irrigation technique requires manual intervention. Whenever there is a change in humidity these sensors sense the change in humidity and gives an interrupt signal to the micro-controller. Thus water is supplied to the farm land in efficient and sufficient manner. Keyword: Bluetooth, humidity, sensor, ATMEGA-8, moisture. × M. Vinoth Kumar , S. Jabez Samson, R. Santhana Krishnan , S. An Effective Way of Dynamic Routing for Flying Ad HOC Networks
- Akansha Singh , Krishna Kiruba R , Dr. D.C. Joy Winnie Wise
Abstract
Mobile Ad-Hoc Network is a self configurable network. It will establish a network in on demand manner especially for battlefield communications. In such applications, intergroup communication is crucial to the team collaboration. To address this weakness, in this paper a new class of ad-hoc network called Flying Ad-Hoc Networks (FANETs) is introduced. A distributed client tracking solution to deal with the dynamic routing nature of client mobility, and present techniques for dynamic topology adaptation in accordance with the mobility pattern of the clients is proposed. The proposed system is two different routing algorithms for ad hoc networks: Optimized Link-State Routing (OLSR), and Predictive-OLSR (P-OLSR). The latter is an OLSR extension that is designed for FANETs. It takes advantage of the GPS information available on board. The simulation results indicate that FANET is robust against network partitioning and capable of providing high relay throughput for the clients. Depending on the high mobility of FANET nodes, the topology changes more frequently than the network topology of a typical MANET or even VANET. Multi-UAV systems may include different types of sensors, and each sensor may require different data delivery strategies. Keyword: - -. × Akansha Singh , Krishna Kiruba R , Dr. D.C. Image Resolution Enhancement using Bicubic and Spline Interpolation Techniques
- T.Nandhini , M.Saratha
Abstract
Images are being used in many fields of research. One of the major issues of images is their resolution. In this paper we are studying different image resolution enhancement techniques that use Wavelet Transform (WT). Basis functions of the WT are small waves located in different times. They are obtained using scaling and translation of a scaling function and wavelet function Therefore, the WT is localized in both time and frequency. In this method is used to improve the image resolution for different type of images. In this paper we are comparing different image resolution enhancement techniques those using Wavelet Transform. In this correspondence, the authors propose an image resolution enhancement technique based on interpolation of the high frequency subband images obtained by discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and the input image. The edges are enhanced by introducing an intermediate stage by using stationary wavelet transform (SWT). DWT is applied in order to decompose an input image into different subbands. Then the high frequency subbands as well as the input image are interpolated. The estimated high frequency subbands are being modified by using high frequency subband obtained through SWT. Then all these subbands are combined to generate a new high resolution image by using inverse DWT (IDWT). The quantitative and visual results are showingvthe superiority of the proposed technique over the conventional and state-of- art image resolution enhancement techniques. Forum Crawler Under Supervision
- C. Navamani ,K.Bhuvaneswari
Abstract
In this paper, we present Forum Crawler Under Supervision (FoCUS), a supervised web-scale forum crawler. The goal of FoCUS is to crawl relevant forum content from the web with minimal overhead. Forum threads contain information content that is the target of forum crawlers. Although forums have different layouts or styles and are powered by different forum software packages, they always have similar implicit navigation paths connected by specific URL types to lead users from entry pages to thread pages. Based on this observation, we reduce the web forum crawling problem to a URL-type recognition problem. And we show how to learn accurate and effective regular expression patterns of implicit navigation paths from automatically created training sets using aggregated results from weak page type classifiers. Robust page type classifiers can be trained from as few as five annotated forums and applied to a large set of unseen forums. Our test results show that FoCUS achieved over 99 percent effectiveness and 97 percent coverage on a large set of test forums powered by over 150 different forum software packages. In addition, the results of applying FoCUS on more than 100 community Question and Answer sites and Blog sites demonstrated that the concept of implicit navigation path could apply to other social media sites. Edge-Oriented On-line Construction of Generalized Suffix Tree
- Jinchao Guo, Jiuhui Pan
Abstract
The Suffix tree is a versatile data structure in string processing. Among the available construction algorithms, the algorithms based on suffix links are popular because they can operate online in linear time. However, the original algorithm based on node-oriented suffix links takes too much time to look up the correct branch. To improve the efficiency, our approach creates suffix links between edges. Relatively, it reduces the number of branch looking up operations and maintains the worst case linear time complexity. Towards a Versatile Opportunity Awareness Algorithm for Humanoid Soccer Robots using Time Petri nets
- Seung-yun Kim, Daniel Ponsini, and Yilin Yang
Abstract
To keep up with the advancements in robotics, techniques for computing and modeling of behaviors must be developed and researched. Using Petri nets (PNs) to model complex systems allows for analysis and increased comprehension of the system itself. PNs can be used to show the logic behind a system or to create a visual representation of the steps a system will take. Although this alone can be useful, there are some areas in which normal PNs fail; in these cases introducing time into the nets can open modeling possibilities. Time can be used to literally represent the duration of an event or can be used to implement probability into a system. In this paper, Time Petri nets (TPNs) are used to model soccer playing robots whose movements are based on the proposed Selective Kick Opportunity Awareness Response (SKOAR) algorithm, which serves to guide the robots to the safest path to the goal. After modeling, simulation and testing, it was shown that the proposed algorithm outperformed both the Soccer Playing Allies Referencing Tract and Coordinate Underlay System (SPARTaCUS) algorithm and the Rapidly-exploring Random Tree (RRT) algorithm in goal score rate by about 3% and 7%, respectively and in goal attempt success rate by about 5% and 17%, respectively. Secured Image Scaling and Cropping Using Encryption
- Supreet Johar , Prof.A.S.Narote
Abstract
Images sometime contain highly sensitive and personal information. If not protected, sensitive information in the images (e.g., MRI scan of a patient or G.I.S. maps) might be subject to unauthorized accesses by cloud providers. A naive approach to protect confidentiality of outsourced images is to encrypt the images before they are stored in the cloud. However, once this is done, it may not be possible to perform basic image processing operations, such as scaling and cropping. For instance, a remote pathologist, accessing a large histopathology image, would require first to access a scaled-down version, and then perform scaling and cropping operations to get a proper resolution for the Region of Interest (ROI). With images that are encrypted using standard encryption techniques, such operations would require the client machine to download the full encrypted images, decrypt them on the local machine, and then perform the operations. This makes the workflow slow and inefficient because a huge amount of data is pre-fetched and processed. 2DCrypto, a cloud-based multi-user encrypted domain image scaling and cropping framework based on the modified Paillier cryptosystem. For Practical deployment, a novel space-efficient tiling scheme for tile-level encrypted domain scaling and cropping operations is implemented. In 2DCrypto, a number of pixels in a tile are put together and the tile is encrypted instead of encrypting each pixel independently and also optimizes the modified Paillier scheme to limit its storage requirement. Thus a space efficient and secured framework for image scaling and cropping using encryption is implemented.
